You can always try it and instruct at the tracks that are less busy and during cooler weather. I'm a teacher also, and I found instructing definitely helped with my own driving. You're not locked into every event. I had the same problem with motion sickness, but after time it sort of (mostly) went away.
At the last SP event, I rode shotgun for 11 nearly full sessions on Saturday. If I tried that at Shen, I would have easily ruined the inside of my helmet. Pick what works for you!
