Default Is it worth removing ballast weight?

My 993 has two huge plates bolted to the floor on the passenger side. I am guessing they are 80+ pounds each, possibly more. They probably outweigh me. For this year, I am only planning on doing DE with the car. I need to adjust the passenger seating position and am considering removing the ballast while I can reach it.

I don't think I need to have the car corner balanced - do I? I can tell a slight difference in handling with or without an instructor as additional weight in some places or conditions. Removing the weight seems like a win until I look at Club Racing.

Are there any other issues to consider before removing the weights? I plan to keep the ballast plates and bolts.
