Be safe and have fun at WG.
Wow Eric. the new car has not been all joy. Good luck. I hope Autometrics will have you back soon.

Oh no! So sorry, Eric. Was looking forward to spending time at the Glen (yes, it's all about ME) and very disappointed you have further issues with that engine. Hopefully it's minor and you'll be back in action by July.

Crap, that really sucks. Hope it's not bad.

I ended up canceling due to our current work load and no time to get the car ready. I know, I should have used a credit card mechanic.

Thanks guys, appreciate the empathy. In Charleston, SC now to deliver my car. To call it very disappointing would be a huge understatement. Does not make sense to me or the builder; both motivated to understand what happened and why. Given the circulating metal bits, will need full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning of the case, heat exchanger, etc.

Have a big trip to Canada scheduled for August, obviously very much at risk.

I have to look hard to find a positive, but if my proactive oil change revealed an otherwise unknown problem, then perhaps it saved a much more catastrophic result for me and others at The Glen.

well, if nothing else at least you are in Charleston. Take some time to relax and enjoy the good food and scenery.

Charleston is a wonderful foodie town - truly outstanding culinary choices from inexpensive and casual to exceptionally fine, and I'm experiencing many of them. Very hot and humid (110 heat index) making being outside miserable, and the tragedy of last week is sobering. In general, the people I've met are nice and friendly, adding to the beauty of the city and surrounding area.

Great place to visit, just not for this reason...

Back to Watkins Glen:

Having a great time here. What a social place - too bad other tracks don't have a big garage like the Glen! Track isn't bad and it's so much fun to drive I forget there are any issues with the surface.

Handlebar is more than just a great 'stache...the boy can drive. Having a great weekend with him. Ben has picked up his pace a lot, too. And I had fun in Russell's right seat.

Supposed to rain overnight, then be cloudy in the morning, and then rain in the afternoon. Let's see if the weatherpersons here are any better than those in the DC area.

Sorry about holding up the first white session today. Ignition or fuel failure at the entry to the boot. Came to rest at the toe in the grass on the right. I would have been happy to sit there for 20 minutes and watch everyone go by but it resulted in a black flag. Complements to the track crew for a quick response and thanks to everyone who helped push it back on the trailer. I'm hoping it's just an electrical thing. Perhaps as simple (as Nadir suggested) as a DME relay. I had a spare but didn't think of it til Nadir suggested it and we were already packed to go home. Great weekend and thanks to Brian Walsh for the instruction.
