Broken interior door handle. How do remove this clip? And how do remove the one the top that I can't even see?

Ryan, isn't there an L shaped rod that fits in the clip? Are you trying to save the plastic handle? I replaced my handles with aluminum ones. I should have a spare

Maybe I just suck at life right now. Before I posted I tried screwdrivers, small picks, and a small pair of needle nose pliers. Everything I try just makes the little clip spin around. I thought maybe there was a secret code I didn't know about, and I figured I'd ask before I gorilla fisted it up.

Jon B I'm not trying to save the plastic piece, and I don't see an L clip. Are you talking about for the back of the handle to the cable in the door? That little L shaped bar piece?

Here is a pic of the backside

Pair of pliers with jaws wide enough to catch both sides of the open end of the clip. One jaw on the open end of the clip, one jaw on the part of the post that sticks up beyond the clip. Squeeze carefully.

You suck or don't have the right size tool Try an ice pick to pry the sucker off. No way it will spin if you are prying or if you are pushing with a large enough screw driver

I remember that clip being a giant PITFA. I put the handle in the vice and used needle nose pliers to push it off. IIRC, there was a LOT of swearing involved.
