Thats pretty much it....just the 2 end covers and some 2 1/4" Al. hose. The right side has 3 pieces to it, so if you are sourcing it used, make sure you get all 3. The left side ducting is off a Turbo as it has a bigger cutout/recess for the distributor. If you go with the original pre73 ducting, their distributor tops/caps were smaller than our SC's so you'll have to form it a little to fit. I found the Turbo ducting at Hershey for $15.

Did you research any more about the rear main seal?
Is it supposed to be flush with the case or set in the way I had mine?

Charile--

That is definitely the cleanest, most beautiful engine I have seen. You're certainly not going to use it, are you?

Bill,

When I installed mine (case halves together) I used a 3/8 extension as a drift and tapped it in until it would not go in any further. The seal is not flush against the case, maybe 1/16" of the seal is protruding. Either the seal or the case is tapered a bit to ensure a tight fit as the seal is tapped in. I have a feeling when you installed yours with the case split, it deformed when you toqrued the case halves together causing the leak. Funny thing is though, in Waynes rebuild book (2.7) the seal is recessed into the case a little, but the 101 projects book (3.0), the seal protrudes a little. I'd just tap it in (with some Curil-T) until you are confident its set. I would not force once it stops as it could deform again.

Maybe others have more input.

Wow!! Charlie, that engine looks fantastic.

Too bad you gotta put oil in it... since that is what leads to all the mess when it leaks out!
