Welcome aboard. Please tell us your name (first name is fine), so we know who we are speaking with. Most of us are local, so it's good to know who we are talking to.

If you elaborate on the issues you are having, it might help with a recommendation (i.e., if it's electrical there is none better then Matt de Maria, if it's a motor issue consider ASG or Intersport, etc...)

I've known a lot of you guys for a while, but I'm new to this web site. So, here is some random biographical information . . .

Grew up in Maryland in Ocean Pines, went to Stephen Decatur High School. Boy it was great growing up at the beach!

Went off to get a BS in biology at Wake Forest U. then off to Florida State U. for a doctorate. Decided I like teaching a lot better than doing research. In 2002 I got a job teaching biology at Prince George's Community College. I've been very happy working there. Became the chair of the department this past July. I'm managing 15 full-time faculty and 50 adjunct faculty with about 2,000 students in any given semester. My hair should be turning from salt-and-pepper to complete white soon!

Married my wife, Susan Mende, in August '97. She's a veterinarian specializing in horses. Our one and only child, Nicolas, was born on 9/10/98. Short honeymoon! In '04 we bought a piece of land in Southern AA County, built a house and barn, and moved in June '05.

Got my first Porsche (an '86 944 with 113K miles) in '97. Joined PCA in '99. Attended my first autocross in fall '01. Dirk Dekker was my first instructor. Sold the car in '07 with 250K miles on it and still running good.

Bought the Boxster in '04 from my dentist. I've won about a half-dozen concours events with the car, including two Parades. I've autocrossed it quite a bit, and I've had it on the track a few times with Summit Point's FATT program. At 6'4" it appears I'd have issues running on the track with PCA, but I've been investigating those options.

See y'all around.

Mark,
Not cheap or close, Mitch Piper (Piper Motorsports, in Sterling, VA) will get your seat low enough to get you on the track. To fit my 6', 5-1/5" into my sunroof 86 Carrera, we cut out the sunroof (add 2"), got a Kirkey seat (add another 2+ inches c/w stock seat), cut out seat rails for mounting to the floor (added about 1") and put in Sparco rails (removed about 3/4"). My vision line is now right in the middle (up to down) through the windshield, and I have INCHES above my head with the helmet on.

A hair closer would be Mike Levitas (TPC) in Jessup, MD, and he could probably do the same thing (except for removing the sun roof). Even closer would be Trak Ratt .
