Default WTB 100mm Wheel Studs

After my idiotic wheel incident, I purchaced Rennline steel lugs. After installing them I quickly realized that, with the spacers, the studs are barely flush with the end of the lug. (makes me nervous)

Anyone have four sets of 100mm studs they bought but did not use? Or pulled of a car and want to get rid of?

Thanks,

Show a pic.. to be honest, it sounds like they are "ok". Somewhere I recall reading a guide to thread engagement should be equal to stud diameter. Having studs stick out 1/2-1" beyond the wheel nut doesn't seem safer to me.. plus you then need an extra long socket to reach over the extended stud. Also, if only street driving, I can't imagine you would generate enough consistent heat and force to have a steel lug nut pull off.

I also think you need to share more about this "idiotic wheel purchase"

Lane, I don't know the lenth of the current stud. Presumably, they were installed when the car was converted with the RSR package back in the late 70's.

Dave, I will at least be AXing and DEing the car and would like to get into some Club Racing.

I guess I have seen other "race" car types with the longer studs and that was the way to go.

It wasn't a wheel purchase that was idiotic it was not tightening the alluminum lug nuts on one of the wheels. The wheel came off and jammed up in the fender well. Since they were the standard nuts I did not notice if they were coming loose so I switched to the open end steel type.

w/ steel, you only need to be flush w/ the top of the stud. Doesn't need to stick out any extra.
