Default Mystery Dash Board Switch - What is it for?

Drove the "Super Car" today and had the top off. Pure heaven and hopefully this warmer weather is here to stay.

I was sitting at a stop light and noticed that there is a switch on my dash that I have no idea what its for. Looked in the owners's manual and the switch is not shown.

The switch is located in the space between the steering column and the control levers for the heater controls. Its large like the fog light or rear defroster switch but it has a green light in it. The light illuminates when I pull it out, and other than lighting up, it doesn't seem to to anything.

What is it?

I heard about this on a Pelican Parts BBS thread not too long ago. I'd try searchin on that site or posting there. More opportunity for a quick answer.

Default ? Switch

Been around these cars for a long time and never seen a factory switch located there. I would guess an addon by a previous owner. Do you have a rear fog light(the red euro version) or any other running lights might have been installed? Is there a symbol in the green knob insert? Bill

Rich: I remember seeing a rear fog light on your car. Probably from when the admiral PO either bought it in Europe or took the car there on a posting.

I have a euro car with the rear fog light. It is operated by the regular fog light knob in the dash next to the lighter. You pull it for the front fogs and twist it for the rear fog.
This knob sounds like the switch for the Flux Capacitor. :P

No man, that is on the right side. This knob sounds like it's for the NOS!

Turbodog, can you shoot a photo of it? It would make identifying it alot easier.

Now I'm super jealous. I didn't know euro cars came with Fulx Capacitors. I want one Do you have a Mr. Fusion as well

Maybe it is for NOS boost or flux capacitation. I know you all will really be jonesing for one just like mine, I'm sure...

Here's a picture. BTW, I do have a Euro style rear fog lens under the rear bumper by the exhaust outlet. The mystery switch does not make this light up.

Here's a picture:

That is totally a NOS switch, yup no doubt about it! 8)
All you need now is this setup and your green knob will work again:
