Always thought batteries were free, just the mounting points are dictated in stock classes. Else we'd all have to run the huge truck looking lump that came in SC / Carreras.

I have an 11.5# 430F 16V supercap sitting on my lab bench that'll start a car a couple of times. (Works out to ~1Ah battery.) It'll deliver *FAR* more instantaneous energy than any chemical based cell and can be recharged 'instantly'. Was ~$400.

everything is free until you cut off a corner of your carpet to get some cage welding done...

in fact, why don't i replace these six little engine pieces with something lighter that works very similar, and then those twelve little ones as well.....

The 2009 rules do not mention anything about batteries (moving, substituting) except for GTC cars. Just did a search. I can't imagine people aren't running at least Optima batteries (and perhaps the little Miata-type batteries) in stock classes - anybody want to chime in (Scott? Hunt?)?

Just about everyone runs a smaller battery. It was the relocated that I was talking about.
