Welcome Pete!

How was the new "washington" circuit? (mega skid-pad X 3 right?)

My name is Chris and I have a couple of Porsches. One is a never-ending 993 Turbo project that's in the same shop that did mr_bock's car. The other is an RS I picked up a couple of weeks ago. Here it is, filth-encrusted:

It's my daily driver for the summer and my first track event with it is next weekend at Thunderbolt. I'd like to keep it in one piece, but we'll have to see how that plays out.

Chris, we met at the Birthday party last week. Love the car, you parked next to me and all I could do was stare at that beauty. It was good talking to you and hope to see you around.

That's the one. The circuit still has quite a bit of work left to be totally complete. While usable now, they have still have to address the grading to prevent the huge standing water on the track. They are also working on laying the curbing.

So far, I've only run 2 wet days on it as everytime we have an event there it's rained but I can tell you that grip there is interesting to say the least. The far skid pads are fairly grippy but the area in the middle that has been sealed is slick to say the least. Also due to the drainage issues, you can't count on grip levels to be consistent from one event to another.

I can't wait to do a dry day there and hopefully, they will have completed the circuit the next time we go up there.

Dave, where have you been? I haven't seen you at a CCA event in years? I miss my 323is from time to time.

I let my membership lapse. $35 a year was cheap, but the club stopped offering any utility for me, aside from a nice walk to the recycling bin whenever Roundel showed up in my mailbox. I sold my e30 a few weeks ago... Prior to that, I realized keeping it maintained in track-worthy status was a losing battle, so it stayed parked for a couple HPDE/Autox seasons. I am (or soon will be) in the market for another track toy. Perhaps an e30, e36 or e28. Or boxster, or 944, or Miata, or Ford Escort. We'll see.

That's me Bob. We chatted quite a bit at the school. I never did get a ride in your beauty.

I was honored to give you multiple point-bys at Thunderbolt! Welcome. This is a good, local site. Great for GTGs, parts and wisdom. Although most parts flow downhill from cars like yours to cars like ... Rob's.
