Default Any Dorki going to FATT this coming Friday?

I'll be there in the black Carrera. I'm going with some friends from Hagerstown including a 2001 blue M5, black 1991 NSX, red 2006 M6, blue '97 M3/4, Evo 7 (or 8 or 9 ?), and grey 2006 Boxster.

Weather is looking good. I'm studying the new track videos - can't wait!

My dad had a '55 Pre A Speedster. A bit spooky to drive (4 wheel drums, bias ply tires and vague shifter), but great to look at. Silver too!

Love it! My father had a '58 1600S cab. Fantastic cars!

Bet the F40 had a hard time keeping up

What a great day! Chilly (flurries when we got there!), but partly sunny. I had a great instructor and really enjoyed the new surface.

With the loss of visual reference points, I tried to take it easy at first. I couldn't find a good reference point for turn in at T4. There was a small white dot (I thought early for me), and I chose 1 car length past it for turn in. Before, I could find a nice "slot" in the chute and go almost flat out from that point on to the apex and dive into T5 hard on the brakes. Now, the apex in T4 seems slightly more "crowned" and there is a seam as you transition from T4 apex to T5 that causes a slight twitch in the 911. Doh! I gradually got more confident, but not quite there yet.

The "bobble" on track out at T9 seemed a little better, or maybe I'm planting the car better with the accelerator. A guy in a NSX went off into the trees there (red flag!) and was very, very lucky to just bend a tie rod and mess up his front spoiler. His car stopped nose first with trees on both sides 2 feet away!

I am starting to feel like a brought a knife to a gun fight. There were 400+hp Evo's, supercharged M3's, and 507 hp M6! Even though I had one of the lowest HP cars there in my stock Carrera, I still managed to pass alot of cars. I could really put some distance on these guys from T1 - T9, but then the HP difference was getting a little frustrating. It sucks to give a point by on the main straight to a car you have by 6 car lengths at T10. Great fun, nevertheless!!!

Don't worry about being passed, it happens to all of us at one point. The most important thing you have to remember is that your car went home with you in the same condition as you took it to the track.

Looks like you had a great time. I stopped by today to watch the sprints. Saw this guy catch the rut in the path after getting loose in t-5. He was OK and the Porsche driver only stopped to see if he was OK.Actually the car had a for sale sign on it.....might be a big discount for some body damage.

Looks like it. By the time the car came to rest on it's roof you would think a corner worker would at least appear to be walking towards the incident. Also no flags to be seen? 993 driver getting out of the car on a hot track and no flags?! WTF? At least one flagger is looking at the car with some passing interest
