Default anybody know Bjorn Stalesen ... Bjorn are you present?

Being a VW and Porsche freak...ah owner, I thought I would go and check it out. Bjorn sounds like a interesting fellow...this event has been advertised for some time. Turnout should be interesting...

cheers,

May 15, 2004 - Vintage VW Show and Swap Meet
5522 Camelot Court, Frederick, Maryland
Vintage VW Show and Swap Meet

When: May 15, 2004 from 9am – when ever

Where: Bjorn Stalesen’s House; 5522 Camelot Court, Ijamsville (Frederick), MD (see the Map Quest link) ( http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...submit=Get+Map ); the show is held behind Bjorn’s house and you will need to go down a very short gravel driveway to get to the pond. We will mark the road prior to the event. Be on the lookout for signs or balloons (not sure which yet). It’s very easy to find.

Bjorn is a member of the VVWCA (Vintage VW Club of America) and the PCA (Porsche Club of America). He has offered to hold the event at his house. The event will be held around his spring fed pond on his 12 acres of land. Bring your swimin’ trunks! Bring your own food and cookout on the grill (to be provided). Restrooms will be available. Bjorn will open up us “barn” full of old vw’s and Porsches as well as his shop full of VW and Porsche parts. Bring your vintage VW to show off and/or old parts that you want to sell. This is not a judged car show, just a show-n-shine, swap meet and general get together. Spread the word!

Please e-mail me with any questions, vwfern@verizon.net.

Thanks and see you there.

:o uh, that's ok, i dorked it up too. it's actually a nice little old developed area just outside the frederick city limits. not near Lake Linganore. nice little curvy roads, but very residential.
I'll try to steal some time and stop by! :P

Default arrived tardy

i arrived LATE (almost 3pm ), but there were no signs up for directions! Well, the location was easy enough to find, but i saw no activity. I realize i shoulda knocked on the door, but i figured i was too late. I felt like i was tresspassing, since the lot was secluded by trees. So i got out, before i heard any double barrels close.

Then i thought to check the sight, incase i got the day wrong. but samba.com looks like some kinda arabic business company!

um, so SCOTT, what's the deal? did i just arrive too late? or is it still a possibility for future fun? I did see a 356 sedan in the gravel driveway, so i couldnt have been TOO FAR off.

well, it was sort-of a bust. My brother and I each drove a car . my 914 and 62 bug...there were four other bugs a 356 speedster and 2 vintage buses. I left about 2pm after about two hours of chit chat and a gallon of persperation.

... could have been fun if the turn out was better. BTW, if you went into the drive way you were about two hundred yards from the pond. A very small white sign directed you to the pond driveway from the main road before you turned onto camellot court. I went to the drive first as well.

Bjorn has a neat collection at the property. From what I gather some of it is his while other cars are stored for friends. There was an early four cam carrera and a 70ish 911 as well as a 49 beetle mixed with various 356's bugs and buses and throw-in a ghia in the filed for good measure

This was very well adverstised in the vw circle, not sure why the turn out was poor.

yes, Samba.com is a middle eastern bank or someting? goto www.thesamba.com for the best aircooled vw site on the net. you might even find a stray 911 part as well
