I have a sawed off 12 gauge too, but am more comfortable with my SIG for a house gun. Those tritium sights work great! Still, nothing beats the sound of a pump shotgun getting racked back. Usually no need to shoot someone after they hear that sound.

By house gun, I mean one that's not kept locked up and inaccessable in the event of emergency. Since I have no kids, I don't have to worry about child safety locks and all that. Besides, I was about 5 or 6 before I was strong enough to rack back the slide on my dad's 1911. Never had to use the gun and the only attempted break-in was when I wasn't home because the criminal knew me and knew I wasn't gonna dial 911 and wait in fear. Cops came later for a report and asked if I was "protected". I told him the house was insured by SIG Sauer and he nooded in approval.

Just out of curiosity, how often do you Dorki gun owners put rounds down range. Per year, per month, per week?

Used to go almost weekly. But ammo is expensive and I am too lazy now to do my own reloading. I have all the equipment for it, but haven't gotten around to it for a few years. Now I just buy a few boxes at a gun show and get to the range a few times a year. But I keep the chops up.

Jase, you are a great American! I have the same gun. I plan someday to send it out to Robar for their nickel/teflon plating, but need to buy another .45 to keep me company while my SIG is out of commission. I had the compact P245 for a while, a super modded-out ParaOrdnance P12 and an also modded-out Combat Commander. But nothing gives me that warm fuzzy feeling like my SIG - truly a wonder gun.
BTW, another prized possession mine is a photo of me standing with Wayne LaPierre, holding up a bumper sticker that reads, "Ted Kennedy's Car has killed more people than my gun has." Where' Sam Riser in this hijacked thread?

I shoot only once a month at NRA in Fairfax - (great range) since handgun ammo is pretty expensive, and I'm not the best handgun shot to begin with. I'm better at moving targets
Did someone say scatter gun? That's what I really love, and have two Citori O/U's (Gran Lighting & Ultra XS Sporting) that I think are fantastic guns. I sold my place at Deep Creek last summer but used to go to Nemacolin Shooting in Western, PA - a terrific Sporting Clays range. Locally, I haunt Bull Run in the summer time pretty regular to scratch the itch. Keith
