I haven't been to a swap meet in a long time.
Cash was the norm.

Can anyone give me a heads up on what to expect.

What might I find up there?
Are really good deals offered?
I want to repaint and do the interior on my SC this spring.
It it worth waiting for this event.
I'll need seals for the doors and tops as well as carpet kit and other various stuff
Do any of the vendors havd discounts worth waiting for?
Is most of the used stuff junk?
How do most people pay?

I am in. More than happy to tag along in the early am caravan with Jim...just don't leave me too far behind! My car has not been on a "long" trip yet...it may be pretty interesting for me and AAA.

A lot of vendors do offer swap meet pricing, especially in the afternoon! As always a well-informed consumer can pick up some really good deals on new & used parts.
In years past there were enough cars for sale that a “bank” would have a trailer on site. Loans could be applied for & cash could be paid to facilitate car purchases. We bought a 356 (T6) at Heresy several years ago. The interest rate was acceptable for the week or so it took to refinance the car. Nice to able to finalize the deal, take the car home the same day. Heck yeah, if you need a part, Hershey's got it and most of the time you can find unbeatable deals. Bill, I'm planning on redoing my paint and interior as well, I'm waiting for Hershey to find my interior parts(dash, doorpanels), and any other parts I may buy on impulse.

David, the portable bank was there last year in the rain too. It would be surprising if they didn't show up this year. I'm going to do a rain prayer dance, hopefully we will have clear skies this year.

Where in Hershey is the meet located?

The swap meet is located in the gigantic parking lot of Hershey Park, the amusement park. It is about 15 minutes away from Harrisburg, PA.

Just a thought:
I'll post a want ad. But while people are looking here.
I am looking for some body parts in perfect condition.

Left front fender (It's shot as well as the headlight bracket.)
Do these come with the conversion kits. Any suggestions on headlights welcome.

Hood
Maybe right front fender (If I find more than the few spots of surface rust.)
Maybe front Valance (My front valance is really beat up.)
Drivers door (If cheap) Mine can be fixed but will take time.
I'm going to do new seals for almost everything.

I'm hoping to get these parts in advance of taking the car apart.
The sooner the better.
Anything else for an interior/exterior upgrade.
I've seen some decent prices in california but I think shipping is a lot.
If anyone's got these parts and can let them go for a reasonable price let me know.

Bill, I don't know what your time frame is like to getting these projects done. But if you can wait until Hershey, you will have no trouble finding all of these parts up there for a reasonable price. I saw some crazy deals last year, someone was selling a door at Hershey last year for $75.[/quote]

I'm hoping to get this going before that, but you never know.
All the rubber stuff get's expensive. (Real expensive on a cab.)
I think I priced it at arround 600-800 at vertex. Add carpet and it get's up there.

I need the body parts early, but the rubber could possibly wait. It goes on last anyway.
