looking for GT3 seats suitable for my 986 Boxster. I understand that both 996 & 997 will essentially bolt in. I am getting further into DE and need more support + additional 5-pt harness.
Thanks |

I have available a Recaro Speed seat that came out of our 986 Boxster. The seatback is hinged, for angle adjustment and allows access behind the seat. Has the correct anti-submarine belt hole in the seat bottom, and shoulder harness holes in the seat back. Set up to use both 5-point harness, as well as 3-point OEM belt. Driver alone can use the 5-point, and both can use 3-point if a passenger rides. Seat is black fabric, and includes slider. New, these were $700 for the seat alone. I'd take $400 for the seat and slider.
This is an image from the internet. I can provide actual pics if interested.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the reply. Looks like you have one seat - I want to make sure. Best, Niel V |

IIRC OEM 997 GT3 seats were/are otherworldly spendy.

I believe the 997 ones have the integrated air bag. The seats might more than double the value of your Boxster...

They do tend to be, yes. I guess my thought is that I enjoy driving the car so much that I don't want to turn it into a track car. I could install track/racing seats for DE and swap them back out for DD, but the notion is w/the GT3 seats (or similar?) I can just leave them in.
Maybe in-n-out isn't so much trouble? I am quite new at this (DE) but the infection is definitely progressing. Thanks all |

Yes, I only have the one Recaro Speed seat. We ran our 2000 Boxster this way for many years. I recently updated our car with GT3 seats. But I tossed out this option for you as it is a very cost effective alternative.

Absolutely Tony,
It is a very economical solution and I appreciate it. If there were two I'd jump. I need to find a similar solution for the passenger side since I'm still driving with instructors @ DE. Thanks for confirming. Niel V |
