Exploring coolers as well. I know the mid-engines require a different in-out solution as the oil apparently gets driven by the gear action to the tail (rear for us) of the transmission housing and you need to get it back to the diff in the front, especially with an LSD. I've been misting some oil out the pressure dongle on top... No gauge in the box so I'm not sure what temps I'm seeing.

Nice to see that you are able to get back to work on #7. And of course in one hour you did more than I was able to accomplish in 5-1/2 hours last weekend

Will keep on eye on this thread to see all the things you tweak while the motor/ trans are out of the car.

Given my technical ability, it is all over my head, but always subscribed for the wow factor.

BTW, you should sell the 3.6 to Carolyn and start on the 2.8 stroker. I don't expect you to do much driving until the kids are out of college (10 years?), so you can take your time for the build. That engine will be a nice present to yourself for getting them out of the house.

Kurt, you mentioned how easy it is to get the engine out. You might want to show and explain your modification to the underbody for those who haven't been reading along (or visiting your garage) from the beginning of this project.

Also, I know how much additional boxing you did above the area that was modified, but I think you've said the area that was cut is not important to the stiffness of the car without the boxing. Could you expand on that? I know several on this board have discussed doing that exact modification.

Thanks for this, and for all the advice you give on this board and face-to-face.

Being a guest on this forum I hesitate in replying to this thread but of all the ones I have read this one really stands out.

I greatly enjoyed reading this thread from start to finish. "Vicegrip" you have done a fabulous job and all the compliments you have received are well deserved. The nightmare of tabs, brackets, holes to drill, weld prep and planning that went into this are beyond imagination for those that have not done something similar. Congratulations on building it right, building it to be fast and building it yourself.
