Finally was able to sign up for a DE in August and that is when the AT showed it's true age and got hot enough to not shift anymore..trying to rectify the issue led me to Billy up there at SP..he let me change filter and fluid on my car to try to work the problem. Then kinda asked if I was thinking of using the 928 AT for track events and pretty much told me I had the wrong car for that, drove home OK..... now ...what to do...2 weeks later a post came on RL from PA...a guy wanted to trade his rebuilt 964 C2 5 speed for an automatic S4 and so I jumped and drove up to straight up trade my 1st Porsche for my 2nd one..... Went to the Sept HPDC with the 964.. also just did the DE on Summit main 31Oct-1Nov...what a great couple of days totally hooked now..went to Rockville last Sunday for the FUN RUN and also met up with the Holbert Bonneville World Speed Record '86 928 car on it's way,up I-81, to Conn. for restoration..that was yesterday... Today I find Dorkiphus...this just keeps getting better and better....
Welcome. Any pics of the car?

It is no secret that my 'dream ' 928 is a '93-'94 Iris/Cobalt Blue 928 GTS 5 speed w/ grey int. and LSD...only 2 exist that I know of, another got bottomed out and was auctioned and dismantled in Boston. the one I want belongs to 'Carchick' up north and short of offering her one of my kidneys plus cash, it is not for sale below $50,000. Check out Nationwide Auto Recyclers in Boston on Ebay to see the remains of the GTS that salvaged for $6k, and it just needed an engine !! Looking at two other 928's now ..one in Potomac and another in OH.

Hello all!

I was recommended to this board by a local enthusiast that helped me through an “impulse” moment on Pelican.

I am new to the 911 world and on a mission to purchase my first 3.2! I almost made a few big mistakes this past week but thanks to the folks on Pelican I was talked off that "Ledge!"

I am a MD resident and a hardcore DIY'er. I'm coming to Porsche from BMW (E38's) and can’t get enough of that German engineering! The 3.2 is truly the car I have always wanted since I was a kid! I'm obsessive and impulsive and if it wasn’t for boards like this I would be driving around in a POS this very week! The comradery amongst German car enthusiast is absolutely amazing! So I just want to say thanks in advance.

My mission is to purchase a white 3.2 with a turbo tail that has tan or black interior (Tan is my 1st preference). It would be my daily driver as well as to Ocean City MD every weekend in the summer. I really want a wide body but understand that in my price range of 15k-19k it’s just not going to happen.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to find a good local car that fits this description, mechanic, meet-ups, fellow enthusiast, etc…

I am ready to be “Learn’t”

Here are my first two posts on Pelican that helped saved me!

Hi everyone!

I've been a member of Rennlist and the 944online forums for a few years now. But my wife and I recently moved to NoVa from beautiful San Antonio, TX and now we're looking to meet other Porsche enthusiasts. We've been PCA members since 2006, when we bought our 951. We're both huge fans of the front engine watercoolers! We've already been to a few PCA events that the Potomac and Chesapeake Regions have put on and we're looking to get even more active.

We recently (Apr 09) had an engine fire on our 951 while heading to the Hershey swap meet and now we're in the process of rebuilding. But the insurance money allowed us to purchase our 'gem' of a car. In July of this year, we acquired the only 968 cabriolet in Cassis Red Metallic with the manual transmission. So far we've placed in every concours we've entered her in!

Here's a few pics of our cars:

Some of the folks on Rennlist suggested that we get on this forum and check it out. So far it seems great!

Welcome. We don't see a lot of 968s in here.

Thanks for the welcome! We debated for a LONG time before we decided to go with a 968 instead of an S2 cab. In the end, it came down to the 6 speed transmission and my wife fell in love with the color. I paid significantly less than we probably should have, and so far everything has been great. It was only driven 11k miles in the last 12 years!

You'll be popular here! (as victims!)

Beautiful cars, esp. that 968. Look forward to seeing that Martini 951 at the track. Oh, and welcome...(sucker)
