I got plenty of high beam use last weekend when my low beam died while on an onramp, getting on the Garden State Pkwy. at 11:30pm to come back to Fairfax. I really enjoyed those 250 night miles on a bike.

I replaced the headlights on mine with the euro units. They take H1 bulbs, and I am running 100watts in each hole. They have great defusers so fog isn't an issue, I also don't blind people with the lowbeams. You, however don't want to be the idiot that won't dim your highbeams to me. (can you say fried retenas)They also have glass lenses so no more fogged up plastic crap.

Rick, you struck a chord with that one. I LOVE riding at night, or at least I used to before I got that last ticket at became a alcoholic.

Actually, my low beam came back to life when I stopped for gas in Elkton, MD. After that, it was a pretty enjoyable ride. And I had a radar detector with earphones in. But while on 195 in NJ, I was playing with my switch, hoping it was just a stuck something or other. What a feeling to be going 85 mph, be the only vehicle on the whole road, no overhead street lights, switch off my high beam and see TOTAL darkness. It was like being on one of those rollercoasters when it goes through a cave. I only did that once before I was convinced my low beam was gone.

Agreed with Tony P. There is also SilverStars Ultra which are even better than the regular SilverStars, but the originals will do great. As to the wattage, as long you stay at 55watts you should be fine. I had a 318I and had the SilverStars sealed beams as I do have then in my Targa now, and they work great.

Here you go Dave...pictures...

Before and after pics of my Hybrid as well as a buddies 996. The difference in brightness is much greater at night...these pics were taken inside DSI's lit work bay.

Anybody want to sell a set of H4s for my Targa? If you're upgrading to HID, there should be some H4s out there.

Peter

Don't you need the H-4s to up grade to HIDs?.
