Bumpers? It's clearly the lack of 30lbs of wiring harness and all new wires. You should rewire your car. It'll only take about 10hrs

Great weekend! It was nice to see everyone again and always nice to meet a few new people. Have to be thrilled with the weather for this early in March, yeah it was a bit cold on Sunday, but I'll take that anyday over rain. And the track, especially on Sunday, had some serious grip considering the air temp.

White was a fun group all weekend...pace was good, and no boneheads causing trains or not giving passing signals. I do have to admit that White in Potomac is a very fast group, probably comparable to other regions Black group.

The weekend was the shakedown for my new engine, and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely problem free all weekend long. The engine builder told me to try to keep it under 5500RPM for the weekend. I behaved for the most part, but I just had visit the 6000+ area at least a few times. I actually matched my best lap times from last year while keeping it under 5500. I think that's a good thing. I'll also need a new chip from Steve Wong to go with the 964 cam and the headers, but he said I'd be fine to run the one in there now for awhile. Also ran a session on a new set of Hoosier R6's to heat cycle them so they're ready to go for VIR...I can see these might be worse than a crack habit (not that I would know ).

Nice to meet Mike Herman. This boy got a whole lot damn faster over the weekend. By Sunday afternoon, he was pulling me around the track, and causing me disobey my imposed RPM limit.

Thanks for the pictures }{. Man my car always photo's so shitty, and that's not a diss on you. Even when the pro's are at an event doing their thing, they just come out blah. I guess I could paint it a lighter color so it looks nicer in pictures...nah, f that.

See you all at VIR (if you're going).

Stellar weekend. I had a terrific blue student, fellow Dorki Darren aka fasterthanscott, who drove very well, learned some better lines and steering techniques exceptionally quickly, as in immediately, and inspired enough confidence in me to want to promote him to white. The region was short-handed on this busy weekend, so Darren's day will come at his next event.

It was nice to meet Mike Herman and Larry Herman. Mike is funny; after looking over his car, we started talking, whereupon he told me that he doesn't want to turn his car into a track car. I looked at him like he was kidding, then looked back at the race seats, roll bar and six-point harnesses and just started laughing, saying "Dude, what the hell are you talking about? You're already there!"

I tried to keep up with Eric Stratton, but his car is very fast in the straights and he is driving it really well in the corners. Ralf and Charlie made me work hard out there, too, and made the runs exhilarating. BTW, who had the white 928 in the white group? I wanted to run even harder, but was there with my student. I came by to tell you that you were driving great for a white group driver, but you had left for the day.

Oh, Jim Evans, TD, Bob Mulligan and I all had epiphanies of various sorts with Chris Cervelli, but that's for another thread and another time.

Thanks, Potomac, for another fantastic DE, and for allowing us to take our learning to another level.

The only reasonScott passed me is because he was in a hurry to get home for his wife's birthday (make whipping sound here). I won't let it happen again

Again, Mark, I had a terrific weekend under your instruction. The hand and elbow positioning you taught me made a huge difference. It felt more relaxed, more in touch and ultimately made me better able to concentrate on much more important facets of driving. Great stuff, great weekend. Thanks again
