IF you really want to sell it, post lots of pics and links to reviews that educate folks to the desirability of your car (eg Excellence) and a list of the factory option codes along with a detailed history as well as why the price is where it is based on Excellence or Pano articles.

FWIW:

With the introduction of the 997, a number of 993's are becoming available, not to mention the ready surplus of 996's, which is pushing prices down. And don't forget the Boxster and Boxster S "surplus" either.

All this gives P-car buyers lots of choices in the 28-38 K range which is the group I think you are targeting.

will try to do, I have dropped the price to $38,000 FIRM. BTW this car is much better than a 993, regular 996, Boxster etc. which are in MHO a dime a dozen. When was the last time you say an AMerica Roadster? They didn't even have one at Rennsport II.

It is also much nicer looking. Compare it to the 911 Speedster which sell for $50k+ it looks better and has sthe turbo brakes etc.

The book value is $35-50k!!!

If interested email me and I will send pictures

It sounds like a great car. The thing is, to most folks it 'just' a 911. As you said, it's unique, which requires a unique buyer. Getting the word out to the right market is key. Pca.org and pelican are a good start. I hate to say it, but ebay is cheap promotion too.

By all means correct me (politely) but I recall the car to be 964 based. Also to be a convertible. Short windscreen like the speedster or normal? Turbo flares. regular rear wing. Brakes - Turbo or normal? I also believe they were created to 1) use up turbo bodies before the turbos became available and 2) were a marketing scheme by PCNA to pump up sales. 1992 was a VERY low sales year for Porsche.

Was it AWD?

I remember seeing a "coupe" version for sale.. Despite the body work (turbo looking) there wasn't much difference between it and a "regular" C2. It may be TOO rare for people to know its existence and advantages over the regular cars.

Pictures and lots of hype in an ad are encouraged.. Drop it on ebay and see who bites... or where the bites drop off at. Your dream car may not be someone elses. Also at 13 years old, its in a gray area for resale... in another 15 it could be a great find.. 5 years ago a great find.. now its lost in a sea of other Porsches and competitors...

Here's a pic... (not of the car that is for sale, its sister).

Think of the America Roadster as a 964 turbo-look cab with the standard 964 pop-up spoiler. It has the turbo suspension and brakes, too. A neat looking car (widebody without the massive wing) and somewhat collectible (I guess).

Another way to get a car like this to sell is through a consignment with an exoctic car shop or a broker (call a few and see if they have any buyers lined up).

Good luck with the sale.
