Default New Track Rubber

Well after a lot of procrastinating I finally broke down and bought a set of track rims and rubber. Thanks to a fellow Dorki I was alerted to an auction on e-bay for a set of 6's and 7's with new RA-1's. The opening price was veeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy attractive and I was the only bidder

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get them to SP on 10/2

Oh, this was coming off of buying new street tires last week because after 12 track days and 15k miles my current set is ready to be replaced...

Doug

Good find! Anyone see something similar, I'm all ears! I just picked up roof rack from Ebay to carry tires to the track. Since you have new ra1's, I would just mount them at home and drive them up. Unless you got them shaved they will be fine on the street.

Damn, am I the last one on street rubber?

Nice find there Doug!

I'm hoping to put some track rubber on before the Oct event also.

Like most instructors, I think students will learn better car control on street tyres, and would recommend waiting till white before getting track tyres.

After doing 10+ events on street tires, I think I'm finally going to make the move to track rubber. If anyone has any other leads on affordable sets of tires and/or fuchs, post it!

What size fuchs are you looking for? I may be moving to bigger wheels over the winter...

Betty, are you going to upgrade from GirlieGirl wheels to GirlieMan wheels, or are you going all the way to ManlyMan size?

Lots of stuff on eBay, but most involve shipping. I'm looking for a set of beater track wheels and rubber too, but all the Rennlist wine and cheese folks have super nice and hence expensive wheels for sale. I just want something straight and true that fit a 993 with Big Reds and that I can pick up locally.

I already have the little 15x6 fuchs and a nice set of 16x7 and 16x9. But the 7s and 9s are on hold until I have the funds to tweek my front fenders and throwing some flares on the rear.

Rumour has it the teener may be getting a transplant over the winter that requires a tad more rubber on the ground. How about some girlie wheels with a "kick". Like....10's and 12s maybe?

This is not a sure thing but is looking better every week.
