Default Engine oil for 3.2 911

Can't find any recent threads in search. Last oil change on the 88 Targa I did used Mobil 1 20w50, seems like hens teeth now. Was pretty available in 5 quarts at Walmart. If not that is 15 w 20 OK?

VR1 is what I used for the SC and Carrera.

For the 3.6 I use Mobil 1 0-40 European formula. Walmart sell 12 Qrt boxes for around $50

Cheers

RedLine should still be an option for synthetic.

The '80s air-cooled engines have flat tappets and need zinc. I used dino oil with zinc and changed more frequently in my 2 most recent Carreras (I knew much less before that). Alternative you can add a zinc supplement. It's been a while so I don't remember brands anymore. And please correct me if this has all been proven wrong since.
