Anyone recommend a detailer near Arlington? Took the decals off the car and it could use a quality cleaning.
Got an estimate from a place in Sterling but it was >$300, which seems like a lot for what I'm looking for, plus it isn't very convenient. |

I don't have any rec's, but who does Arlington Porsche/Audi/BMW use? fwiw, I would think $300 would seem about right at most places. I imagine its mostly a labor charge too. The local "car wash" guys near me charge about $200 for a basic detail ( http://mainstreetcarcare.net/car-wash/index.html ).

Ok. Hmm. Well, Hobiecat offered to help with DIY detail. That may be the way I go if $300+ is what it will cost for a professional job.

This seems like the way to go, just finished the 911SC, two bucket wash, polish, wax etc. it took about three hours for the outside. I should have taken the extra time and used clay.

Porsche of Tysons does details. you can pick and chose the level of work to the desired $ spent too.

Clay is only needed if the paint feels rough.
I've had it explained that it's like the ER, you only go there if you need it, you don't plan an appointment.

Clay removes imperfections on top of the paint, feel is only one of several methods of determining if imperfections are present. The OP has residue from decals, she would benefit from a through cleaning prior to polishing and wax.

Pro Clean in Tysons or ask Intersport. I remember a place on Walter Reed that did Euro repair.
