Default Funny thing about VIR ...

I was looking at the track pictures on Marc's site and found this one ...

... absolutely shocking! I spent 6 days last year driving around Oak Tree and never noticed that big freakin' tree. Of course I "knew" it was there, but I never SAW IT. Always looking at the flag station. Or (all too often) the really slow traffic just ahead of my front bumper.

Gotta look at more track pictures ...

Ladies and Gentlemen... Mackpipes has a new challenger for the title of "King of smack talking"

Yes, Greg, it is awfully big isn't it. Maybe a trans-am car might make a dent in it but, I doubt our "puny" 2000 - 2200 lb cars would scrape off the bark.

Seriously, you haven't seen video from the NNJR VIR event. Some very slow traffic, even on the 3rd day. But I'm not complainin'

I think we have the cure for smack.

Note to self: Ensure that Ted and Greg are sent out in Red for one run session [or as long as they last]
Yep, that should do it.

Greg, you're looking in the wrong place. Keep your eyes up and constantly moving. You have more time than you think you do.
Go around the fast left to track right, down the hill and back up moving to track left, do as much braking as necessary to make first right toward the fence. You have plenty of time to check the flag station before you start braking again, down shifting, hitting the turn in point, and keeping your eyes up for what is around the corner. Do not fixate on the turn in point.
As you get to the turn in point turn the wheel and raise your eyes toward the apex and around the corner. Look where you want to go (making sure there isn't someone crossed up in front of you ).
There's no sense in getting on someone's bumper and following him around the turn. Give him room (he should know you're back there).
By giving the driver in front some room you want to gauge your closing speed so you can improve your exit speed of the turn. Following him bumper to bumper will not allow you to increase your exit speed making it harder to overtake him on the straight.
"I don't talk smack. I just go by!" yeah, but there's an easier way.

Default Smackpipes

Did someone say smack talk?
People that Mackpipes passed at VIR:
Greg
Marc
Peter
Bill W.

Red Group...... bring it!
Now here's what qualifies this as official smack talk. I currently don't have a working car.

Smack talk indeed. Tony, I like your idea of bringing these guys out in red "for as long as they last". As we all know...it's easy to talk the talk, but can they walk the walk?

Perhaps we should add a classroom lesson to the DE program titled "It doesn't matter who you are, there is always someone faster"? Or should we call it "Humble 101"?

Classroom, who needs classroom? I play lots of racing video games so I KNOW I'll be good on the track.
