Default NASA June Joust @ Summit Point 6/10-11

Hey,

I just signed up for NASA's event this weekend at Summit Point. Anyone else going?

The interesting part about this weekend is that it will feature three Porsche 944 NA cars competing in PTE class, including mine.

PTE isn't a well-subscribed class here in the mid-atlantic, and 944's haven't been that common at NASA for a while now. But suddenly there are three that are prepared to NASA PT rules!

Does anyone else have a 944 track car and would enjoy racing it with NASA? Not to steal anyone from PCA, which is a great place to race, but here's how I did it with mine, given the pre-existing mods on mine made me illegal in PCA's SP1/SP2 right off the bat:

I know, it's a long story. I tried to keep it interesting though.

I'll be there running my Spec3 in Lightning.

There used to be a couple 944s that ran in GTS1. Haven't seen them in a season or so...

NASA has a great race school. Full (very busy) day Friday with classroom and exercises, then race with regular races Sat and Sunday, following which they give you your license.

Wow, you make it looks so easy. In just a few years you were able to prep the car for NASA! Thanks for sharing. Lots of good work there and much respect for the effort.

Hope you all had fun. We had one of the Audi drivers stop by our skid pad session Saturday. But he didn't mean to. It also looked like the Brothers of Drift were having a fire fighter training program on Shenandoah. Their paddock is a much more intriguing place than BMW or NASA's.

Going back to Main tomorrow for what looks like a day of rain driving.
