Default This 914 could be it.

(Linky) '71 914 2.0L. Track ready. Looks pretty good in the pics. $11k.

Has Webers (were they ALL originally FI? I've read articles indicating carb install should be taken as a warning sign.)

I'm liking the price for what seems to be a turnkey track car in pretty decent shape.

Thoughts?

The coolness is off the charts, but what kind of power does that make? May have the same de issues as a miata.

Coolness is a big piece of what I'm going for - cheaply(ish) while maintaining respectability. Followed by flipability (when the time comes), a good learning platform, and lastly concerned with power and getting passed.

I need to get into something soon, and start making regular track excursions again. After some time back in the scene, I can start looking for cool, fast, and more spendy...

All 914-4s were injected.

WTF runs oil lines in the passenger compartment like that? (vs through the rockers) Note: The seats, harnesses, and fuel cell all have dates. Likely timed out and will have to be replaced. If the base car is in good shape might not a terrible price.

Front-engined Porsches just don't turn my gears for some reason - but, I've never driven one, either. Or a 914 for that matter.

Good point - have requested pics of tags.

More body pics - some rust issues under the pax seat, pax door striking the body, and some frunk rust.

I believe Vicegrip's white car has them in the passenger compartment, but they're under a "false floor" (unless I'm remembering wrong).

road trip

Looks like a nice car. 914's take getting used to, at least the few I've driven. Drive one.

Might be fun street car. Will become frustrated on track as you will not have anyone to play with.
