Default Stripping...the Cayman

I'm lightening up the Cayman and preparing to have Piper install a roll cage. Here's some pics.

Now working on the doors. Ryan's article and a quick peek at his car today helped me figure out some things. I'll post updates as I make progress.

All good questions I managed to bring the scale down to the garage today but I haven't gathered up all the remnants yet to weigh them. I'll report back when I do.

Door panels are 15lbs each including the speakers and the airbag.

wow, that's it? i guess it's the steel/safety bracing, etc that makes them so heavy. cuz darn if they dont feel much heavier when opening or closing, ya know?

My cage is 190 lbs. But the car with cage is 2300 and change, so I need ballast to make class weight

Bring it over on the weekend and I'll weight the whole car! You can fill the tank up right up the street and we can get a "worst case"

Thanks TR. I think I'm free Sunday (need to check with the boss). I'll DM you later in the week.

I'm also looking for a large tv box to put all the stripped items into so I can weight them and put them in storage.

No plan yet (I'm way to ADHD to plan anything ). I want to get another year of DEs in then work on moving up to racing. My car is a 2007 Cayman S. Any thought/recommendations on class with be appreciated. For now I'm erring on the side of safety and feeding my addiction to mod the car. I figure if I ever need to sell the car it will never sell as stock again so why not put the cage it.
