Are 944 and 911 power sport seats the same?

Looking at this car, it looks like it has power sport seats. And they look like leather bolsters with some type of cloth or seude inserts.

Slight differences (by year) but should be totally interchangable across the board.

They are interchangeable; my current 951 had 993 "Comfort" seats in it when I bought it.

Those seats look like Porsche Script sport seats, which are vinyl with a cloth "Porsche" script insert. The cloth insert fabric is no longer made and so the script sport seats, if in good condition, are typically considered more valuable than the leather (and more ubiquitous) counterpart.


Take some good upholstery cleaner to the seats and they'll really clean up nicely. Those seats, if they're in great condition, could easily fetch $1000 for the pair (largely offsetting the cost of the car).

This is an old (and dirty) picture of my Porsche Script Sport Seats from my first 951 (which are currently residing in my current one!). That color is a real B**** to clean.

Based on the tear in the driver's side bolster, I'd say those seats, if clean, would be worth around $600-800 in a good market. The 15" fuchs are desirable, though not as much as the 16" variants found on the '86 turbo. TR probably knows better what these would go for.

It's also got a new expansion tank, which are pricey little buggers. You could get a decent amount for this, say $100. The floor mats, if in good shape, could get a few bucks. The steering wheel is semi-desirable but looks to be in bad shape so not much value there. The dash, if in good shape (no cracks, even) could get you quite a pretty penny.

Then, of course, the motor would get you $500. So I could see you being able to offset the cost of the car if you really wanted to part it.

I was looking at keeping the whole car and it being my next project, but two other more interesting (at least to me trades have popped up).

This one... with "rough" front fenders and a hood. But it doesn't have a title, and I'm not sure what's involved in getting one, and it obviously is a massive, MASSIVE, project.

I'd pass on both, though the 912 looks more interesting. Massive amounts of chassis work = $$$

Keep looking untill you find a nice relatively rust free coupe chassis... then build a race car
