I am looking for a set of 16 inch early offset wheels for a 1986 944 turbo. phone dials or whatever with tires is a plus.

Isn't there something unique about the wheel offset on an '86 951? A one-year-only kind of thing?

'86 was the only 951 to be early offset. All 944 variants from '87 on were late offset.

The 86 951 fuchs are the one year only thing. 911 SC/Carrera wheels will work for the 86 951 too, but I need them to be cheaper than fuchs.

951 7x16 fuchs have a slightly different inside w/more space for 4 pot Brembo brakes. Will have 944 part number.

944 part number wheels will work better, as TR mentions. Otherwise you need to run a small spacer up front to clear the caliper.
