Default Transmission clinic

First off Admins : if this is not appropriate please tell me and I will delete or move

I am hosting a transmission clinic at my shop on April 14-15. The world renowned Dr. Evil ( Mike Lesniak ) is going to be here putting on a tranny clinic. Here's the story

For 300.00 you bring your pre 74 911, or 914 ( 901, 914 etc ) transmission and YOU rebuild it with the guidance of a VERY experienced builder. A gasket kit will be needed, and Mike had several sets of gears, synchros for sale in addition to the 300.00 base fee. At this time no 915, G50, 356 or other trannies will be done as they have an additional expense of tools and parts that the 901/914 trans do not.

at the end of the clinic you will have a comletely refreshend and properly working gearbox for as little as 300.00 assuming your internals are in good working order. I need a FIRM count as to attendees, and whether or not you will need a gasket kit, or will provide your own.

Dominoes pizza and, cola/water for lunch. Due to insurance issues I can not provide alcohol, but I can tell you to bring your own. I can promise you from past experience, you won't be the only one

I will also be here to answer any body/paint, mechanical issues you may have on older models. I will profess not to be up to date on current ( post 83
) models mechanicals.

Mike's thread on the 914 world as well as posts from other clinics he has had can be seen here.

Please post either to this thread, or the one on the 914 world, or PM me directly as to your intent

Thanks, Scott

That is certainly something I could consider.

Walking away with a freshly rebuilt 901 in one day for $300 + parts is an absolute steal!
Having someone on hand to guide your every move AND with a stock of parts is priceless!

Nice idea Scotty - should be more of this kind of thing.

there is also a possibility of having some 917 style shift knobs available for sale at the clinic as well. In both stock and Rennshift configurations. Price is pending but here is a pic of one UN-finished. The finished knob would be wither done in tung oil or varnish depending on desire. I can likely have several of both on hand.

Unfinished knob in raw wood

Very cool idea, too bad I only have a thousand or two miles on my trans. Maybe I'll touch base with Dr Evil and see if I can do a deal to install an LSD, hmmmmm.

I'd be really interested if they decide to do 915 boxes as I have 3.

Might be better if you have a private session.
