If you followed my thread a couple months ago, the blue monster has been killed by an errant hit and run driver. After months of wrangling with Geico (clearly, their employees thought they were working for Gordon Gekko and not the cute lizard, those greedy sons of bitches) they finally agreed to total the car and pay me somewhere near what she's worth. Given the low salvage value, I kept the car with the intent to fix her up but MIT wants me to pay them fifty odd grand to go learn stuff next year, so I'm putting her on the block. She is an electric blue 1978 911SC (gray market, imported in 1985) with 89,000 miles. I've owned the car since last April and used her as a daily driver when it's warm and a weekender during the cold months.
Add-ons: -Better Bodies Strosek style widebody kit. -18 x 8 and 10 Antera 101 alloys -Bridgestone S-01 245/40's and 285/30's -1984 Sport Seats with black Iggee covers -Momo blue and black steering wheel and shift knob -JVC CD player -Custom exhaust The good: -It's a non-branded title, so it can be either fixed and driven, or parted out. -Engine and transmission are in decent condition. By decent, I mean you can drive it in town and on the highway happily and carefree and I've driven 200-300 mile stretches with ease. After sitting for a while, engine will smoke for a minute or two. I don't have leakdown or compression numbers or know anything about the head stud situation. If you're unsure, assume the worst. Transmission crunches between 1st and 2nd if not shifted gingerly, and obviously, you kinda have to be stationary to shift into 1st. Mechanic says will last another couple years if driven gingerly, but who wants to drive a 911 gingerly? -Lights, Electric windows, horn and sunroof work, all gauges are operational. Electrically, the car's in pretty good shape. -Started interior renovation, and the seats, steering wheel, and shifter look great -Paint is pretty good (10 footer) -Sounds absolutely fantastic The bad: -Obviously, it's been crashed. I don't know if there was any frame damage, and if so, how severe. The steering linkage snapped, so the front wheels turn independently of one another, the struts were bent, and from my understanding from Europros in Bethesda, it's pretty much a mess in ther front suspension area generally. -At the time of the crash, I was upgrading the interior. You'll need to install carpet and sunroof upholstery. Car is sold with new door panels uninstalled as well as new window motors and relays -Force of the impact made the fiberglass body kit pull away from the steel at the door sills, and the rear left fender is bubbling (rust, I presume.) Front fender has some pits and scratches. Car is sold with add'l pair of Strosek style turbo S fenders - Could use a brake job. -Haven't started the car since crash as impact must have knocked something loose. Insurance company has Actual Cash Value set at about $12,900 (happy to provide appraisal) and Europros in Bethesda, MD is quoting the damage at somewhere around $12,200 which is a top-to bottom figure to fix every body imperfection and straighten things out with the suspension/chassis. If you're interested, you're more than welcome to inspect the car or tow at your expense to your favorite local mechanic for a more thorough shakedown. I'm headed to grad school in a couple months, so cars must go. Make me an offer ![]() ![]() Pre-crash ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I can only post ten images, so for more pics, please view: http://gallery.mac.com/faraji#100010 Also have a 2002 Black Suburban for sale with 99,000 miles (uncrashed) if anyone needs a hauler/tower/general gas guzzler: $9,000 |

Stick a price on it if you want to sell it here. This isn't eBay and we try not to do the whole "send me some offers and I'll think about it" thing. Since you bought the salvage back from Geico, I'm sure you have a price in mind.

You mention having new door panels that haven't been installed yet. What kind of door panels are these and what are you asking for them?

They're standard 911SC door panels in good condition. $85 and they're yours. No door pockets

Sorry for your loss. That was one beautiful car and only few were made. There is a yellow one on Rennlist and the only other one I've seen.
BTW, the rounded 5 spoke wheels in the later pics, what brand and model are they? |

Those are Antera 101's. Older model, but I didn't want to wreck the Speedlines on DC potholes.

Don't worry, when you graduate from MIT you'll be able to afford LOTS of Porsches! MIT graduates are the smartest people in the world, and make tons of money! Good luck there.
