Anyone signed up for DE's there this summer? I would like to caravan with any fellow Dorki's who are going. Checked the track's website and the first event is filled for green/yellow group, so I won't be going to the July 21/22 event. There are 3 other Schattenbaum DE's at NJMSP this year, AUG 18/19, OCT 6, and NOV 1/2. It's about a 2-3 hour ride, closer than MO, VIR, and Watkins Glen. Ryan, are you going AUG 18/19?

looking to go to but haven't sat down with a schedule yet. Schat's first one sounds more like a "school" than DE from the talk during lunch today. Didn't sound like a lot of fun unless you like track caravans.

What is Reisentoter's web address? I'll check it out. Where are they based?

DR, what was the lunch talk about exactly?

I'm suppose to do the one in July but as DR says it didn't sound too promising. According the the head Schatt guy, since noone knows the track they may just have touring laps the first day so the instructors can get to know the track. It's only going to be the second event there ( first one is members only ) so noone will have been able to drive it.
It could be interesting as it sounds like it's going to be the blind leading the blind for that event.

A session or two of caravaning wouldn't be such a bad thing if no one knows the track....but a whole day might be extreme.

I am doing Thunderbolt with the BMW CCA NJ on 8/22. I don't know if any of you guys run with other car clubs. BMW CCA does not care if you have a BMW or not. I suspect it is all full, but I don't know for sure.

I'm one of the head guys from Schattenbaum. I think you mis-understood Dan. The first session will be done at touring speeds with multiple drivers hopping in and out of cars to see the track, then a normal DE format for the rest of the day. This touring phase should take a grand total of around 30 minutes. This is how we did our first ever day at Shenandoah.
