Beautiful pics.

How did you get the format [layout in your post] from imagebam? I am looking for ideas on getting photo gallery software / programs for pics for one of my websites.

* not stacked vertically

I believe its simply a matter of using small enough saved pics, that more than 1 fits horizontally.

Example, using the preview thumbnails of some of my smugmug pics (rather than the other sizes also available, S, M, L):

And X2!!! on the beautiful pics! You seem to go on some spectacular vacations. I'm jealous.....

thanks. found a windmill but no skinny tall guy w/ a lance...

when i upload a large quantity of pics to imagebam, the total code for embedding thumbs is arranged in such a way that it will try to take up all the horizontal space available in a given window before it goes to the next row... does that sound clear?

try reducing the width of the window to see what happens.

Dave, Pics look really good.

FWIW, Might I suggest turning your ISO down. Looking at the EXIF data its set to 1600 (and is causing the shutter and aperture to go sky high to compensate). Thats causing the color noise in the sky and shadows. In the outdoor pics, you could easily turn down to 200. Using the broken windmill as an example (barc 149), its 1/1250s,f18,1600ISO. At ISO 200 you'd still have 1/150s shutter - plenty high to handhold the 63mm zoom setting. It would also likely get the camera to reduce the aperture slightly (diffraction effects will start to reduce picture qual somewhere above f16.) The best feature of modern digitals is autoISO. Id suggest to RTFM, turn it on, and Id suggest starting at 1/100s min shutter & 1600 max iso. Then set the 'default' iso to 200. That will allow the camera to turn up the iso automatically when needed indoors and in the evening but leave it low outdoors.

How could you tell what the settings were?

I saved a few of them to my desktop and read the embedded EXIF data. Its nice to see imagebam leaves the header intact. Some webhosters seem to automatically strip it to save a tiny bit of space - they suck Some image editing programs also seem to strip it. FWIW, I use ACDSee as a general pic browser but there are lots of programs that will display/edit the data. All sorts of cool stuff can be encoded into it (incl the total # of shutter actuations your camera has.)

IrfanView is another simple and FREE image viewer that can be downloaded online. It also includes the ability to see EXIF info.
