I figured I would post here to find out what I need first. I need to remove and replace the front and rear torsion bars in my car. In order to put on my 16X6's and 7's that have been sitting in my garage. I also need to replace a busted CV boot in the rear and I need to install the front monoballs that have been on the shelf since...Hershey. My question are these, can this work be done in my garage? I have no lift. Can anyone come and help me do this? Or can I bring it to someone who can help? I can get a trailer and tow it and then take it to get aligned. I realize this will probably be the only time I do it on my car, but I want to learn how to do it and not just be one of those drop it off and pay the bill type of guys. I've done about everything else on it, motor drop and valve adjustments and all that, but math and figuring out angles and all that crap might as well be a foreign language to me. If it can be done in my garage I am more than willing to have a cookout beerfest to host anyone that will help. I'll be honest it's hot as balls to be doing it now, but I want to try and set up a date so I can plan for it. And figure out who might be able to help. I'm in Martinsburg WV which is out of the way for most of you I am sure, that's why I don't mind bringing it to someone if that would be easier.
Thanks guys

I'd be happy to host a t bar party at my place. I found when replacing mine, the front to be relatively easy, while the rear can be a time consuming trial and error affair. Have you considered getting adjustable spring plates? One benefit to bringing your car here is that Matt De Maria's shop is nearby and, if you can co-ordinate a date with him, after installing t bars you could scoot over to his shop for an alignment.

These are a must (almost) Setting the rears back where they started from is easy, don't let all the figures boggle you. I cheat, when I get the tention off the spring plate I simply use a pencil to run a line along the frame, paralell to the spring plate. When I reinstall the plate just match the angles back and you are set. Piece of cake. I am booked for the next few weekends but if you are still in a bind when my scedule clears, we can talk.

I'm in no rush. It needs to be done but not right away. That is why I was posting now to set up a date when I can get some help.
