New 911 coming tomorrow
After searching high and low for the last few months I have found my car. It was quite a search but I just agreed on price and sent a deposit on the following:
1984 Carrera Targa Black on Black Interior is excellent (i mean it is really good) Paint is original and very good All receipts since new, window sticker, car cover, compressor, tool box 930 steering wheel First owner had it for right at 20 years and it was garaged. No rust 145k miles Had a PPI done and it came back very good. Only items is it needs a new clutch (but I knew that pre-PPI). The leak down and compression was the following: 2.5, 2.5, 4, 3.5, 2.5, 3 and the compression was 150, 150, 145, 150, 155, 150 I paid $11.1k. Can I get a feel from the Dorki community as to how I did? let me have it, good or bad. thanks, William

I think you did real fine.
Some Carreras manifest their valve guide issues way before 100K miles. Other's like Chris M's (and possibly yours) may never at all.

Apparently the engine has never been "gone into" according to the seller. he has all receipts as well. Supposedly up to $35k in receipts. i think it was just very well taken care of from what it looks like from the interior (which i think must be reupholstered, it looks too good) i'll try to post a few pics if i can figure it out.
