he he... that's true... and these Mid-Atlantic potholes are downright puny compared to the ones from the (617) area code...
Although I do miss Storrow drive and all its madness as well as the Pru/Copley exit from Mass. Pike. |

All I remember from Boston is that all the "native" cars had at least one BIG dent. That and those damn traffic circles.

oh yeah, that's for sure. You are *never* the last one to go through a yellow light....
It's one of the few places w/ rotarys and yet most of the residents don't know how to use them either. Forget the visitors. You can also count on absolutely NO ONE letting you into the lane... with streets that are old and narrow, you learn to protect your spance. You know those people that linger and linger at a green/yellow light b/c they are too cautious and timid to jump through the lane due to oncoming traffic? Those people are beaten to death or their cars pushed out INTO traffic. If not, you end up standing at the intersection for hours b/c- no one ever lets anyone in. After a week, you learn to jump across an intersection inches before the other traffic arrives! All cities should send their drivers for a "practical application" month long session in Boston. After that, any traffic pattern would be a breeze. Not to mention physically larger roads. |

My favorite Bostonian driving habit - while driving down a secondary road at 50mph the guy in front comes to a stop to let someone in the on coming lane make a left turn. Left more then a few skid marks (no abs on the '86 accord). ahhh memories....
