I need to add a couple of more spot mirrors on my S2. Rather than buying the fancy Longacre for $42, i have been looking at www.SummitRacing.com for universal mirrors that I can attach to the role bar. I wonder if using hose clamp to attach any of these would be a reasonable option.

IMO, once you have the longacre you darn near dont NEED side mirrors (at least the pass side one). Allows you to see far more info in one glance. = more time looking ahead.

FWIW, I actually tried using one of the Longacre spot mirrors that attach to the rollcage, but could never quite get a decent view/angle setup. Ended up returning the mirror.
The Longacre center rear view are great mirrors, and installed correctly, give you very wide coverage, almost negating the need for side mirros, as mentioned. But you'll need the wider version for best/full coverage. The only gripe I have about the Longacre mirrors is that they are a bit fragile. The curved glass is under tension, and a bump with the helmet will cause them to crack. Though not as popular nowadays, I'm still a fan of the multi-panel Wink mirror. Properly installed, you can see through the driver's door all the way around through the passenger door. And fairly sturdy, although the individual mirror panel's adhesive has been known to give up after many years, but easily repaired with some hot-melt glue or good quality 2-sided tape. Unfortunately, the PO of my race car didn't mount the Wink properly; still works, but not ideal coverage towards driver's side. Welded brackets have delayed my trying to correct it. I suggest maybe trying some simple stick-on 3" wide-angle round mirrors (available at most FLAPS) to attach to the factory door mirrors. The 3" mirror will give you a decent view of what's around you; if something's there you can resort to secondary views for more details. I've found the smaller round mirrors to be harder to see/use. On my car, I changed the mirrors to aftermarket bullet style mirrors, primarly because the factory mirror was blocked by my window net on the driver's side. I've stuck 3" round wide-angle mirrors to each one.

I personally have a problem with the longacre mirror. The one that I remember was convex and totally screwed up depth perception. Do they now have non convex?? I have driven cars with the Wink multi-mirror and liked it. I do really like the longacre mounting system, that is sweet.

As an aside, any one have a stock rearview they don't need? Long story short is that I got a new windshield and I have the mount but the mirror couldn't be reattached. This will be my back up plan.
