Default Jacking up front end

Anybody know a good way to jack up the front of the car so you can put jack stands under both the A-arm caps? Here (I hope the upload worked) is method that appeared on the Pelican site recently. Looks kinda crude to me. Comments?

I use the bar that's right behind the front air dam (that protects the A/C). Are we talking about a 911 here? Is that pic of a 911?

Yes but it looks an early car with an "S" Fiber Glass bumper.

Hence my question about the picture. Aren't we actually talking about an early '80s SC here, which would not look the same in the front?

I'm not sure what model is pictured. You're right, of course; SCs with air conditioning have an evaporator (I think) with a mesh shroud installed in that area.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Big help.

I use the alum. cross member where tha A-arms meet but If you want to do it this way get a board long enough to reach between, jack in middle like you are and place stands under board. Or just keep jacking and place stands. Still like cross member ends better.

I jack my '76 targa up exactly where the picture has the jack. Most times I don't even use a piece of wood [rubber padded jack].

There isn't a lot of weight there and car goes right up easy-peasy [tech term].

i use a board long enough to extend over the caps and put the stands under the board. 914 front end is light though....
