Default Where to get clear bra installed?

Some clear bra installers from the left coast were arranging a visit to the mid-Atlantic area for a group-buy in the $575 range. That's a super price. But it's been postponed from May 14th to "sometime in June". I really don't want to go a day longer than my 30 day curing period before I put the clear bra on my new paint. So who does this locally besides the guys with Curry's who get close to $1000 for it? Thanks.

There was a good article in Der V in the last 6 months or so regarding clear bra materials and local installers. I would start there. IIRC the 3M material was better than the rest.

I'll ask what it costs at my body shop to have done and let you know if it is in the $600 range. They use the pattern cut sets.

Thanks. I've heard the 3M stuff eventually yellows, but haven't seen a case firsthand. IIRC, BMW of Sterling wanted around $900 to do a friend's 325i. Can't imagine HBL would be cheaper, but if so, I'm interested.

I used the guy mentioned in Der V. He is very good and he comes to your place to install, BUT, he is rather expensive. It cost me $1300 to get my car done. To be fair, I had the entire front end done (including headlights), the rockerpanels, the side mirrors, and behind the rear wheels.

I can give you his number if you need it.

I got my car done by California Tint located on Colvin Run Road and paid around $900 and am very happy with the performance of the 3M film. Ask for Dave he is the shop owner.

Ok, the guy recommended to me by Postmark (who did a great job on his 993) doesn't seem to be able to get it together. Left my car there one day and the he called to say the kit he was sent was the wrong one, but had the right part # on it. That was 2 wks. ago. Now he says the new one was delivered to the shop nextdoor and he can't track it down. For $475 I was willing to cut him some slack. Now I want to go to NJ next weekend and really want to get this done ASAP. Who's the guy in dV? Kurt, any chance HBL is reasonably priced?
