Default Carrera GT

A while ago on Porsche Talk forum someone had taken pictures of a Carrera GT at Porsche of Arlington. It was stated that the car had been sold to someone in the Los Angeles area and was about to be shipped out to the west coast. A few weeks ago I noticed that a Carrera GT of the same color was a "Managers Special" at P of A. I assume that the sale had fallen through and they were looking for a new buyer. Although I am not sure what kind of "special" they could have offered. What only 1.5 times sticker? Either way, the car is no longer listed in their inventory. Anyone know what happened to it? Any chance of it showing up at a local event? Just curious.

What color was it? I've seen a Seal Grey CGT around Potomac a few times.

A link to the original posting on the Potomac web site.

http://www.pcapotomac.org/pca/html/carreragt.shtml

The sticker states "GT Silver Metallic" and a mere $448,300.00.

My Aunt lives in Potomac. I may have to drop by more often.

If they had knocked off another 10 grand, I would have jumped on it.

My wife just won't let me sell the house to buy one. Where's the sense of giving and support that flourishes this time of year???

I was thinking of buying my 1st house next year. Too bad they don't have 1st time supercar buyers programs and let you finance over 30 years.

I just wonder what the process is for buying a 1/2 million dollar car. Do you haggle? Do they try to load you up with BS dealer installed options? I wonder if they give you the old dealer "four square" treatment and ask you how much you can afford in monthly payments.

How about undercoating or pinstripes on the boring models?

When I was like 15 I found an ad in the WSJ or R&T for a Lamboghini. I called the dealer and they told me it was a 7 year loan if you wanted to finance it and would have worked out to something like $7000/month. Yikes.

Now I understand that old saying "If you have to ask...."

When I buy one I will let you know. Just, give me about 1,500 years to get back to you.

I think it depends if you get the guy who was selling hyundais and kias the week before

Seriously, why wouldn't you haggle? Its still money isn't it? Besides, maybe you can get them to knock enough off that the Pirelli Slicks can be paid for with the change!
