Default Gaithersburg Latitude Observatory...

Hey all - just read about this place:
http://bldgblog.com/2018/10/internat...e-of-wobbling/

A quick look on Google shows that it is still standing (100 DeSellum Ave). Anyone been there? Worth a stop the next time I'm in the area?

From a buddy of mine that is with the Arlington amateur astronomy group:

It is still there and is open as a museum now. The guy who runs it spoke at a meeting a few months ago. It was a pretty cool international project, ran for more than 100 years and through 2 world wars

That's pretty cool! Never heard of it before. Will have to pay a visit sometime.

FWIW, not far away (as the crow flies...) is the site of the original PCA Parade in 1956, at the (now redeveloped) Washingtonian Motel. Looks to currently be the site of Marriot Residence Inn/Springhill Suites.
