Default Dominion Raceway Tours?

I know our event is some months away, but would love to have a chance to tour or walk the new track at Dominion Raceway. Has anyone heard anything about an opportunity to see the track first hand?

Great idea, I would like to do that too.

How are the mods coming along?

I stopped by there 5 weeks ago and they were still working on site drainage grading and sub-grade utility installation, no buildings or pavement yet.
Per Jim Lorimer, Dominion Raceway Marketing, they hope to have the track completed in July.

PCA First Settlers is currently planning a June 6 breakfast at Tito's Diner in Fredericksburg followed by a "fun run" on scenic roads down to the track. We'll have something on MSR soon.

We are also hosting an "Intro to HPDE Seminar" at a local business in Fredericksburg on 9 May starting at 1200 noon. It will be open to anyone with any club that has interest in participating in HPDEs. We hope to have a representative of Dominion attending or we may meet them before or after the event at the track. This event is already in MSR but the visit with the Dominion rep. has not been finalized.

Back in February a couple of us from FSR spent a few hours with the GM, Edwin Pardue. We went over lots of information. I was planning an article for the Der Vorganger) but the bottom line was that schedules were way too soft to get people excited about. Edwin did take us out on the site but the drainage work was underway so it was very hard to visualize the whole track but we could see some specific turns and features. It will have some nice elevation change and some fun climbing esses. The project will be a phased opening with the road course set to open first, then the oval track and later the drag strip. There is a lot to like about their plans.
