Default Race Suit

Looking for some input on Race Suits. I bought an already cheap then deeply discounted Sparco 3 layer suit in black (so as not to show the dirt). Not only is it SFI/5 rated but its also usable for Arctic expeditions. I sweated my #$@#S off. Looking for some feedback on a comfortable yet reasonably affordable suit, <$1k.

There is an eBay seller who auctions used nascar suits. I've seen a few and they looked decent, but I imagine it's a bit of a gamble

Worth the look, thanks for the heads up.

Don't you have the same Sparco, too? You guys are using cool shirts though, right? I don't see that going into the 911 anytime soon.

Speaking of cool shirts, I still need mine from Rick! SOB, I totally forgot!

How do those guys go the bathroom at Daytona, isn't the race like four hours?

Talk to Mark Francis. ( may get a little discount )
This one is a little more than you want to pay but worth every penny.
And on clearance.

I can't imagine a CoolShirt set up being terribly difficult to install in a 911. I know some install in the passenger seat area. But if you can manage an opening to pass the water tubes into the front trunk area, it should be a fairly easy install. And a CoolShirt can help tremendously with comfort, as long as the track session is under 1 hour or so. A simple On-Off switch, or even a timer, can help extend the duration of the cold water flow.

I've heard that is one of the most asked questions they get. I understand its hot and busy in the car....I doubt I could pee in my car at 200 mph or would I need to. That said, I saw a rain red flag at Dover once and quite a few drivers headed to to porta johns.

+2 on this. Mark will hook you up and check the warehouse for any older suits in your size and price range. I made the jump to an X-light last year when they went on sale/clearance and what a difference! My old suit was like wearing a quilt and did not breathe at all. The Sparco X-light breathes well and I prefer wearing it in a DE to jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt. Pricey but worth it for long periods in a hot racecar.
