Default I've had it!

am daily driving the 911 this entire weekend, despite the weather.
slush snow, salt, pot holes, etc.. i don't care anymore - bring it on.
tired of waiting..

haven't driven her in about 4 weeks - and am really restless!

I'm probably gonna hit the Lifts for Charity tomorrow at ASG. Thereafter, I'd be happy to do a fun run with you. I drive my 911 as long as I can get it out of the parking lot. I'll dig her out tonight.

Rick, sorry i didn't touch base - instead, my weekend turned into a real PITA. decided to take off my regular 7x16 and 8x16 fuchs and try out the phone dials that i've had laying around. why? because the roads are disastrous -and the phone dials are beaters. ends up that one of the rear tires tires went super flat on me (even after i had all 4 of them balanced by Mn at Pitstop Performance) -- and am a little pissed with him - thinking he should have noticed.. but that's a whole other story..

in short, the only driving i did was hopping along on a rim in 1st gear trying to hunt down a decent working air pump in Alexandria. the tire is completely shot.

so now i need new tires for the rear and Tire Rack is currently out of stock. BF Goodrich Comp ZR's.

hope most of you had better luck - and were able to get out yesterday for a bit -- as the sun came out.

Default Spring

Some sure signs of spring: On the way to the office in downtown DC today, I spotted a black Carrera with tail and polished Fuchs, and a beautiful red 993 Turbo. First time I've spotted 911s on my commute in weeks. I will definitely be ready to blast around in the P-car if the mild weather holds till Saturday.

Last night I was on a date and got distracted by that magical sound of a flat six firing up. I had my truck with me, and the girl didn't know I was a Porsche guy. My ears perked up like a dog's when they hear the word "treat." I quickly scanned the parking lot and saw a gorgeous guards red 911 with a duck tail. I immediately sprang into Porsche-guru-mode, ignored my date and went over to talk with the driver. It was an '81 SC with a 964 front bumper and 993 wheels - very cool car. My date overheard me tell the 911 driver what I had. Then she said I must love picking up ladies in my Porsche. I told her my 911 was probably more of a turn-off to women, once they find out how much time and money I spend on it and not on a woman.

ha! she'll get used to competing for attention. my girl has given up (but will admit from time to time she digs the 911).

i fixed my tire problem on Monday night and ripped the car around for about 2 hrs. to get her up to temp. Felt great - and the 15" wheels are perfect for getting around town. Makes the steering so nimble compared to my 16's.

good hint of what's to come with today's weather!
