Default Any local June DE events?

Don't want to have to get a NASA or SCCA license so what other events are local in June that I could drive in?

Larry -- go to SP's web site and look at the schedule -- they usually provide links to the clubs so it's easy to contact them.

The calendar shows nothing for June unless you have the SCCA or NASA license.

You don't need a license to do DEs run by NASA or SCCA.

I didn't know that. I'll go and re-check.

But you do need to be a member. NASA is sweet cause membership includes 12 months of Grass Roots Motor Sport

Yes, Larry, what license are you talking about? You just go and sign up; you can even sign up to level 3 and provide explanation on your background and DE experience, they'll still put you in level 2 first, but probably move you to L3 later in the day or weekend.

You have to be a member, if that's what you meant by 'license.' But that's just one a year, no big deal. I personally don't waste money on SCCA for DEs.

Ben is planning on signing up for NASA HPDE the same weekend I'm racing (if he's coming all the way down to VIR with me, I want him to drive). HPDE-2 has some overlap with the racers, but HPDE-3 does not. Am I hearing that Ben, who is generally signed off solo in Blue plenty early each event, could conceivably sign up for HPDE-3, knowing they'd put him in Level 2 for the first few sessions?

Gonna bring both cars? I'd be leery of sharing the 'race car', as chances are you will be troubleshooting/ fixing stuff during the weekend as the car gets it's first serious shake-out. Also, you don't want him flat-spotting your Hoosiers, do you?
