Default 87 944na Flywheel lock

Hey guys,
Had a water pump seize on me last night... Didn't break the t belt -phew- but did certainly tear the belt up pretty bad!
Long story short; I was actually able to order my parts from pelican. And they should be here tomorrow! Problem is I could not get the fly wheel lock or timing belt wrench.

If anyone in the Maryland Baltimore area has these and would let me borrow them for a few days that would be amazing! Beer or steak or both could be your reward!

Also I am open to alternative suggestions to substitute these items. Heard screw driver could work...
Thanks,
Pete

I have both...plus the spring tensioner tool. PM me if you're interested.

I got 'em both and will be in Frederick tomorrow - but it sounds like Jim is much closer. Don't skimp on the tools for the t-belt work.

The Arnnworx tools work great.

Yup thanks to Jim; TDC set, Flywheel lock in place, Crank pulley removed, Removed radiator fans, Intake removed, the project is moving right along.

If Pelican Parts does in fact get me the parts tomorrow I will be very happy!

Awesome, Pete! Sounds like you're doing well. Like I said when you picked up the
tools.....Best part is - you didn't chicken out and pay someone $$$$ to do this for you.
Honestly, 944 timing belts and water pumps are not rocket science....it just takes time and patience.
(oh...and the right tools)

Anyway....Let me know how it goes.....take your time....call if you get stuck.

Hear is a question for the people:

Well First let me give Kudos and Thanks to Pelican Parts; I placed an order with them yesterday afternoon, and they were able to assemble and ship me the parts by 8:53am this morning!! This was the only parts place I called that would do that, even a warehouse in Harrisburg PA couldn't get my order here today...

Question: Waterpump looks great, and came with the with "Blocking Plate" however the "Blocking Plate" has a hole that runs through it; so it will effectively block nothing! ha ha!

Am I missing something? Wrong Part? Do I just cap it with something?

I know nothing about this, but in clothing manufacturing, "blocking" refers to setting things into the correct shape. Is the blocking plate to get the part into a better position, rather than decreasing flow?

Look close and make sure it really isn't blocked at the bottom where you can't see it. Maybe you could take it off the old one.

My old waterpump is the updated style with Rail and Larger Pulley but doesn't have a blocking plate. It is just solid metal where this hole is...
