Default truck brakes??

Looks like my 2002 F-150 will need new brakes this year. I also want to replace the front and rear shocks. Question is what pads and shocks are you truck drovers using. Truck has ~82K miles and is used primarily for towing and occasional hauling.
Will be 3 rd. set for the rotors and pads. It currently has the NAPA carbon metallic pads all around. But I’m not totally happy with them.

Also planning on my usual 30K trans and power steering fluid changes and semi annual air filter and brake flush. Would consider changing plugs if they weren’t such a bi*ch to reach on the 5.4 V8.

If you want a really good product, give these guys a call:

http://www.praisedynobrake.com/index.htm

They started out making brake pads and shoes for hotrods and restorations, to improve braking without making making changes from stock parts/designs. They were so successful, customers started asking them to make pads for their tow vehicles.

Their catalog is a bit limited, but if your truck is covered, their pads are the best I've ever used on my Suburban.

I will caveat their cryo rotors though. I tried a set, and they warped pretty quickly. I was very surprised/unhappy. But OEM rotors and PraiseDyno pads on my Suburban are a great combination. Great stopping power compared to other pads, plus they last considerably longer than any other pads I've used. Tried a variety, including PraiseDyno, on both my earlier '94 1500 Suburban, and current '01 2500 Suburban. PraiseDyno's were alway more better!

When I got the Yukon, I immediately replaced front pads (needed) with the NAPA carbon metallics. Not too happy with them either, and pulled them off and replaced with a set of used OEM (whatever brand that is) for the Denali, and have had no issues.

I'll be replacing all 4 corners with Carbotech Bobcats after Mid-Ohio.

I order my shit from Eric at Brakeswap.

I put Bilstien shocks on my F-350. They are a good and popular replacement shock.

I put a set of Hawk pads, LTS I think, on a truck and the seem to work very well. Pedal feel seemed much better, but I didnt test while towing.

I think Brembo makes an upgrade kit if you really hate $$.

While I've never used them, the Hawk LTS seem to be well-regarded on the Tundra forum I frequent.

Rancho Shocks. Also, you wouldn't be having all these problems if you had a proper PPI done
