Default Engine Drop Sat 8/29, Maryland

We'll be beginning my transmission swap Saturday afternoon Aug 29th (well, if nobody tells TR and BT, I'll leave Tech early and we can start late Saturday morning) at OldTee's, and completing it Sunday morning. We'd love some help/company, and I'll be providing Pizza and beverages (beer only for non-workers until work is done for the day, but workers get extra!).

If you can come join us (OldTee lives in Derwood, VERY close to Autothority, where the Tech Inspection will take place in the morning), please PM me. Thanks in advance.

Peter

Saturday Afternoon:
Disconnect engine and transmission (axles, shifter, oil lines, electrical)
Remove engine and transmission
Separate engine and transmission
Prepare "new" 911SC transmission for Carrera (may be pushed back to Sunday morning)
Swap axle flanges to late-Carrera style
Cut out area for sensors
Swap throw-out bearing fork (or whatever it's called - the one on current transmission is brand-new)
Swap over clutch helper-spring (currently only on current transmission)

Sunday Morning:
Mate transmission to engine
Install in car
Reconnect everything
Drive (from my keyboard to God's ears!)

Thanks, Jim. You coming?
Rick: I have an event at 5 PM. You get there at 2:30-3:00, it will be too late. How about coming up on Sunday morning to help with the other direction?

I can't. I have to move my parents belongings out of an apartment in Martinsville, VA so it's gonna be one of those days. Missing the tech inspection too but duty calls.

Love to see you, Brian. As it happens, I left the car at OldTee's last night, and he got "the itch" today so the engine is already out and on the ground (he's pretty amazing). So tomorrow will be prepare the "new" transmission, mate to the engine, and hopefully install in the car.
