Default 944 Voltage Regulator

Looks like I'm going to need a new voltage regulator for my early 85 / 944. Can anyone recommend a local parts supplier in the Dulles / Tyson’s area?

based on my experiences with many VWs and one 944, I prefer the Transpo voltage regulators, because it seems that the factory voltage setting is just a tad low.

Unfortunately I haven't a clue where to buy one - last one I bought was from Dan Wray/IceShark (RIP)

In Tysons area, you may want to call Intersport Performance. They use a number of parts suppliers in the area, and can tell what what's available. Their number is 703-242-8680.

If not in a big hurry, you may also try contacting Suncoast Motorsports. They are a Porsche dealer in FL, and sell OEM parts at very good prices. Their number is 877-923-1700. Shipping can be pretty quick, unless parts must come from Germany.

Most any parts Retailer will order one for you if not in stock. I’ve used Olympus but the interwebs tend to be less $$ but can take longer.
