Default Squeaky wheel

When I purchased the car, the pre-purchase inspection said the front left wheel bearing needed to be adjusted. After a week of driving the car, I would hear a squeaky noise. I thought it was that front left bearing. However, with the car in neutral, engine off, and pushing the car slowly, I can hear the noise in the left rear wheel. Intermittent squeaking as if it has to rotate all the way around to hit the spot. Adding to this, my parking brake does not work fully. If I have it in the full upright position, I get a little resistence, not enough to keep the car from rolling on an incline. Any thoughts on this?

Could be a bearing but more likely the rotor/pad. Could also be E brake but it likely just needs adjusting. BTW your front wheel bearing prolly still needs adjusting If you haven't done so yet down load the factory manual for reference.
Consider bringing the car to tech tomorrow and we can take a look at it. No RSVP required.

I couldn't get to tech this weekend. (would have really liked to.) I am a little concerned about jacking my car. I saw on another post "dropping my engine" the diagram for jack points. However, they don't seem to correspond with my car. I tried once by the sump plate and had that weird noise experience. I do not have the factory jack that slides into the holes on the side in front of the rear wheel. What are good spots for the jack?

Sounds like the emergency brake needs attention. Pull the wheel and hub. You may need new pads.

x2

Place a block of wood, like a 2x4, in front of the sump and jack away.

the block of wood worked. I successfully raised the rear and was able to use jack stands on the torsion bars. I removed the left rear wheel. The hub has a cotter pin on the nut, presumably to lock it into place. The pin was rusted a little as well as the exterior of the hub. The disc look fine (as best as I know). i did see sufficent brake pads. However, the entire brake assembly was a little confusing so I didn't mess with it. I wasn't sure I understood how the e-brake works. Any thoughts/guidance?

E-brake is just a glorified drum brake. The seldom wear out. Did you download the manual? Brakes/axels/bearings have good coverage.

I down loaded the manul through your link in the signature. There is really nothing about the e-brake or wheel bearings. Did I miss something?

page 528 of the manual has a nice pic of the rear axel. PET has some of e-brake and axel too.

In order to get in and really take a good look at the emergency brake you are going to have to pull the rotor off. which means pulling the brake caliper and the drum. Have recently had to do the same. You dont need to mess with the cotter pin that is on the hub. There is a small cotter pin on the emerg brake cable which you might have to remove, but i doubt it.

if you look at a picture of the set up it will help make sense. you can adjust the emergency brake without removing the rotor.
